Les effets du r\u00e9chauffement climatique sur les micro-organismes, \u00eatres vivants et virus invisibles \u00e0 l&rsquo;\u0153il nu en raison de leur petite taille (inf\u00e9rieure \u00e0 50 microm\u00e8tres), sont en revanche moins bien connus et tr\u00e8s peu discut\u00e9s au sein de l&rsquo;espace public.<\/span><\/p><\/div><div data-breakout=\"normal\"><p id=\"viewer-eqxfv14604\" class=\"E0qnV MObmT G3Wrx a144M\" dir=\"auto\"><span class=\"rpoEi\">Dans une analyse publi\u00e9e en juin 2019 au sein de la revue <a class=\"Qwps1 _8zT4p\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nature.com\/articles\/s41579-019-0222-5\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-hook=\"WebLink\"><u>Nature<\/u><\/a>, plus de 1700 biologistes alertent pourtant sur l&rsquo;importance de cette question. Les micro-organismes sont en effet au fondement de l&rsquo;ensemble des \u00e9cosyst\u00e8mes terrestres. Le bouleversement de cette vie minuscule sous l&rsquo;effet du changement climatique aurait donc des r\u00e9percussions majeures sur l&rsquo;ensemble du vivant.<\/span><\/p><\/div><div data-breakout=\"normal\"><p id=\"viewer-x4fvr9788\" class=\"E0qnV MObmT G3Wrx a144M\" dir=\"auto\"><span class=\"rpoEi\">De plus, les micro-organismes jouent un r\u00f4le majeur dans le <a class=\"Qwps1 _8zT4p\" href=\"http:\/\/www2.ggl.ulaval.ca\/personnel\/bourque\/s3\/cycle.carbone.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-hook=\"WebLink\"><u>cycle du carbone<\/u><\/a>. Le d\u00e9p\u00e9rissement de certains d&rsquo;entre eux pourrait d\u00e8s lors contribuer \u00e0 renforcer le r\u00e9chauffement d\u00e9j\u00e0 en cours, puisque le dioxyde de carbone est l&rsquo;un des principaux gaz \u00e0 effet de serre.<\/span><\/p><\/div><div data-breakout=\"normal\"><p id=\"viewer-nx37139043\" class=\"E0qnV MObmT G3Wrx a144M\" dir=\"auto\"><span class=\"rpoEi\">Une telle menace doit \u00eatre prise au s\u00e9rieux. Les auteurs de cette analyse soulignent ainsi que les effets du d\u00e9r\u00e8glement climatique sur les micro-organismes marins, qui constituent pr\u00e8s de 90% de la biomasse marine, sont d\u00e9j\u00e0 visibles. Or, les phytoplanctons marins effectuent la moiti\u00e9 de la <a class=\"Qwps1 _8zT4p\" href=\"https:\/\/planet-vie.ens.fr\/thematiques\/manipulations-en-svt\/la-photosynthese-generalites#:~:text=La%20photosynth%C3%A8se%20des%20v%C3%A9g%C3%A9taux%20chlorophylliens,%2C%20lib%C3%A9ration%20de%20CO2).\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-hook=\"WebLink\"><u>fixation photosynth\u00e9tique<\/u><\/a> du dioxyde de carbone sur Terre et jouent par l\u00e0 un r\u00f4le majeur dans la r\u00e9gulation du climat terrestre.<\/span><\/p><\/div><div data-breakout=\"normal\"><p id=\"viewer-67d4z59407\" class=\"E0qnV MObmT G3Wrx a144M\" dir=\"auto\"><span class=\"rpoEi\">Certaines formes de phytoplancton, comme les diatom\u00e9es p\u00e9lagiques, connaissent d\u00e9j\u00e0 un <a class=\"Qwps1 _8zT4p\" href=\"https:\/\/agupubs.onlinelibrary.wiley.com\/doi\/full\/10.1002\/2015GB005139\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-hook=\"WebLink\"><u>important d\u00e9clin<\/u><\/a> depuis les ann\u00e9es 1990. Les causes de ce d\u00e9clin sont nombreuses et complexes. Une telle \u00e9volution aurait des cons\u00e9quences majeures sur les flux biog\u00e9ochimiques, c&rsquo;est-\u00e0-dire sur la circulation des \u00e9l\u00e9ments chimiques (azote, oxyg\u00e8ne, carbone&#8230;) entre l&rsquo;atmosph\u00e8re, la biosph\u00e8re marine et l&rsquo;hydrosph\u00e8re. Ces changements pourraient \u00e0 terme entra\u00eener une production microbienne marine accrue, au d\u00e9triment des niveaux trophiques sup\u00e9rieurs, qu&rsquo;il s&rsquo;agisse des v\u00e9g\u00e9taux, des poissons ou des crustac\u00e9s.<\/span><\/p><\/div><div data-breakout=\"normal\"><p id=\"viewer-dnn35116391\" class=\"E0qnV MObmT G3Wrx a144M\" dir=\"auto\"><span class=\"rpoEi\">La modification de l&rsquo;environnement marin est \u00e9galement susceptible d&rsquo;alt\u00e9rer les interactions entre diff\u00e9rents organismes. Les r\u00e9chauffement des eaux conduit par exemple les coraux \u00e0 expulser certaines algues, appel\u00e9es zooxanthelles, avec lesquelles ils entretiennent une relation symbiotique souvent essentielle \u00e0 leur survie.
